I am looking at the 28th Indiana Infantry Regiment (Colored) is also known as the 28th United States Colored Troops Infantry Regiment. Is says in the Dyer Comendium: "Accompanied Gen. Sheridan Cavalry through Chickahominy Swamps to Prince George Court House, with several skirmishes." My question would be that "General Sheridan" would that be Philip Henry Sheridan? If not could you Wikipedia link it to here?
