General Oliver O. Howard

Reminds me of a story I read a few years ago. Howard had his right arm amputated after Fair Oaks. He was visited by General Phil Kearny, who had previously had his left arm amputated. Kearny told Howard that from that day forward, they should shop for their gloves together. LOL :roflmao:

I also heard that story about Howard and Kearny. Amazing that they could joke about what would normally be a devastating wound for most people. But on the other hand, maybe CW officers were tougher people in their day. So many officers who had limbs amputated returned to field command without hesitation (including Hood, Ewell, Jackson had he lived almost certainly).

Good job here on this one. I like when the colorisations give the old photo a look that is relatable to the modern eye.
Howard had his ups and downs in the war but also had quite a career post war as well.
