ummmmm---fried chicken. When I was a kid we ate lots of beans--lots of beans and cornbread. My dad called beans over crumbled cornbread " An Arkansas Pudding."

My Dad loved "cold buttermilk," too. I've tried and tried to acquire a taste for it, but it tastes absolutely horrible to me. Don't mind it in pancakes, though or as a pre-wash for fried chicken.

I don't like the taste of buttermilk but I love the recipes that use buttermilk: buttermilk biscuits, buttermilk pie, buttermilk pancakes and fried chicken! I never fry chicken without a pint of buttermilk for the batter.

I agree with you. Buttermilk is a great ingredient for many recipes. I remember my grandmother made the best buttermilk pies!
