Ft Mac was great. I had a really good time.
I got to know the 17th more & meet the members.
Lol, our unit did nothing, but bore the heaviest of the fighting during the charge. We had our fun though on the picket line & while waiting for duty we passed the time by telling stories & throwing Pine Cones. One of the members brought a Harpers Weekly magazine & read the whole paper to us. It was quite interesting. During the charge they had us yell 40 rounds 20 in the pocket to honor the corps that fought there. The 17th charged through the Sally Port with hardly any casualties.

I had a great time laughing with my comrades in arms.
