This forum has been in existence for a long time. I am a relatively "newbie", I admit. But when I try to post a new thread, it seems to have already been covered somewhere in time. Is there a thread many would like to discuss, that hasn't already been examined? I'm retired, I've got the time, and am willing (if it's something that I can find and research), to post a thread that is new and interesting...Any thoughts/ideas?

Simply find a old thread of interest and make a post, even the word bumped is enough for it to be on top. I do it and others do it.

Also you can PM a moderator and they can merge your new thread with an old one, also bumping it to the top.

Finally, there is no rule against a duplicate of an old subject, so just appreciate the links folks post and post away.

Duplicate subjects posted in a close time span for example a few days often get merged.

Rhett,
Duplication of posts doesn't hurt anything. Old f*rts like you and I are said to have forgotten what we read yesterday anyway! (LOL) Seriously though, bumping an old post is a cool idea since many here are new and may have not read the original thread. Looking forward to your choices in study...

If this is in reference to the Sultana thread, I wasn't trying to shut you down by cross-referencing the other threads-- just trying to be helpful by spreading the information around. There's very little that hasn't at least been touched on here and there in over a million posts; but at the same time I'm sure there's plenty more to discuss about those topics even when they may not be new.

We just glad you on forum. I have been enjoying your posts.

Heck yeah! We are not all that picky. Bring it on!

Thanks to everyone for being so generous here and I for one appreciate it. I first came here to study and learn, but find t the interaction fun too! Mrs. Al and I both have lousy health and don't go out a lot. It is great to be able to post on any subject. And like they said, if you bump one or duplicate one there might be someone here who has a new idea. And everyone is cool about it anyhow.

No, Mark--Thank you, but my thread wasn't connected to your helpful addition to the Sultana...
