An article in the Trenton State Gazette (NJ) of Dec. 5, 1850, tells of a young free colored man kidnapped from his father's house in Indianapolis, and sold into slavery in Texas. In a manner reminiscent of Solomon Norhrup's redemption in the book and movie "Twelve Years a Slave," he is found and rescued.
