I attended a WW2 veteran's reunion back in 2008 and we stayed in the hotel just up the street(to the right in the first photo). I "discovered" the train station on my first walk to get breakfast in that same block---I think it was right down the tracks.
It wasn't open for a visit so I never got to take a peak inside except through the windows.

Thanks, I pass the John Brown House at least once a day in my travels from my house in Chambersburg.
Even though the information we had said it would be open , it was closed when we got there . We were able to see the old jail .

Cravens House on the north side of Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga, TN.
Battle of Lookout Mountain began with General Walthall's Mississippi brigade of 1500 men facing three Union divisions. Walthall's fell back to this position where he was reinforced and held this position until night-fall.
The Cravens House was pretty much dismantled for shelter and fire wood during those cold winter months and was destroyed after the battle.

Worthington House, Monocacy Battlefield. Glenn Worthington, who was 6 years old at the time, later wrote a book about the battle.
The NPS website has a virtual tour of the inside of the house, available at:

Ever since I saw the house in 2014 I;ve thought how much it resembled the McLean House at Appomattox; here's my photo of it that was taken during a NPS Ranger-led talk:
