Captured at Gettysburg July 3, 1863, retains rank as Sgt until Jan 1, 1864

Confined at Fort McHenry July 6, 1863
Arrived at Fort Delaware July 7/12 1863 and transferred to Point Lookout, October 18, 1863 and exchanged September 30, 1864

Died - Oct 13, 1864 at "Hospital No. 24" of chronic diareaha,,, muster roll has his death November 18
