May 20th-22nd I will be going to my first reenactment of the year. Not sure on how many we will have there as our group, 28th NY Co.E is really starting to dwindle. Should be a fun time though. I'll be there with my Dad and probably some others from the 136th NY. This one is either a complete washout or freezing cold so fingers crossed we get a good weekend. I have more information if anyone is interested.

Got home yesterday. It was about what I expected. My group had 5 in attendance, the largest of one group on the union side. It was a fun weekend but numbers wise we are in such a sad state of affairs in my region. We had a wicked thunderstorm roll through on Saturday night so my Dad and I quickly picked up our sleeping stuff from the tent and slept under a pavilion with our muskets up in the rafters to keep them dry. Mother Nature gave us quite the light show. The battle was hokey given the small numbers on both sides but all in all it was a really fun weekend.

I agree but they went the easy "politically correct" route and banned the Confederates because heaven forbid ignorant people have to see a part of history that they don't like. That battle event use to be one of the biggest in the state and a great many people in the area loved going to watch it.
