Finding an August event/reenactment

Hi folks, really excited to join the community. I'm wondering if you could help me with something: I'm taking a road trip in August (see image for route) and am hoping to find a reenactment or event somewhere near or just off the route—ideally in the first two weeks of the month. I'm searching in lots of places, but it's taking a while and I suspect what I'm finding isn't comprehensive information, so any suggestions would be appreciated!

See if the Bascobel event is still going. Aug 2-3? That's the only event in August I know of off hand.

If you haven't you need to visit the ACW museum in Kenosha and the Veterans Museum in Madison. The Rock Island Arsenal Museum is an absolute must see. I understand the Iowa NG Museum in Des Moines is worth a quick look

Good luck.
