Hello I want to share this dug Remington I added to my collection a while back. It was picked up off the confederate earth works in Atlanta. I had wanted a dug civil war gun for a long time and I got this one for a good price

Since most earthworks at Atlanta no longer exist, do you know the general area? I usually wouldn't ask that, but odds are that a car wash or Jiffy Lube are sitting there now.
It was recovered on the south side of i 75 near the Chatahoochee as there was a lot of fighting in that area. The guy said it was Beverly Dubose Jr that found it.

There was some significant action around there and a lot of CS fortifications. They've made a few micro parks in that vicinity to preserve some "shoupade" sites.

Great piece! I love dug revolvers! It was a very expensive and fairly hard to get piece of equipment. Your personal protection depended on. They make me wonder what was happening that it was dropped, or lost and they didn't spend time looking for it. It leaves everything open to speculation. I now have 6 in my collection, a couple are still loaded. All but one from battlefields. A revolver in nice condition can be easily found if you have the money, but each dug one tells it's own story. I had the good luck to visit Hans at the Cody Dug Up Gun museum last summer in Wyoming. Absolutely worth the visit. His collection is incredible.
