Looking to expand our interpretation of Civil War Artillery equipment and would like to add a drivers saddle (eventually a valise saddle) to the mix.. I know Border State makes them but I cannot get through to them and wonder if they are still in operation..
If not, is there another source??
We are not "horsed" so its a static display..

Up the Artillery!!!

one option would be to get the description and drawings from Artillery for the Land Service of the United States and find someone who could make one.

Your best option is to watch social media for sale posts on reenactor pages, or maybe reach out to horse drawn units that are downsizing or disbanding.

Any kind of CW tack is tough to find right now.

I have an original valise saddle but don't want to expose that to the rigors of display and handling a lot..
Thanks for your input guys !!

Do reenactors ever look outside of the U.S, there are a few good companies in the UK that appear to be quite good and may be able to point you in the right direction, here's a link to one such company, it might be worth a look, everything seems reasonably priced. They may or may not be able to help with drivers saddle but they have plenty of other stuff that you might be interested in.
here's a link.
