I'm doing research on a Confederate officer named John H. Stegil, Captain of the German Volunteers who served at Fort Pulaski. One of the books that contains information on him (I believe anyway) is The Germans of Charleston, Richmond and New Orleans during the Civil War Period, 1850-1870: A Study and Research Compendium

I've looked to try to access the book online and it appears it is restricted to universities or students of such. To purchase it is about $200. I'm hoping that someone here might have a copy or access to it to let me know what info, if any, is available on Captain Stegil.

Thank you.

@scooter748driver , did you contact the interlibrary loan librarian at your library? While WorldCat does show the print book as being in primarily academic libraries, that doesn't always mean that you can't get it through interlibrary loan. If the library at the junior college in your area has a copy, you might be able to access it if they issue district resident's cards.
