I believe it's misspelled buffet and furniture. Two-piece buffet and hutch.

Could very well be. This is why the Webster dictionary, and it's regularized spelling was so important. And yes, somewhere in the background, Mr. Webster is related to "my" ancestral Webster.

Thanks for everyone's help so far. Here's another of the estate papers. Can anyone determine the underlined name? Given name maybe Ailsey or Aubry? Surname maybe Warren or Darren? @AndyHall @JAGwinn @Jimklag @Arioch @treebie2000 @Mrs. V

That's a fine looking piece of furniture.. it looks like it's made of Red Oak.

Search the 1860 census for Ailsey and/or Audrey Warren in the county or surrounding counties?

Thanks. That what I thought. The estate was sold at the home in Northampton County, NC. I searched the census for Aubry Warren and Aubry Darrien etc, in NC but had no luck. Perhaps you will have better luck? If you would be kind enough to give it a shot, I would appreciate it very much.

EDIT TO ADD: Thank you sooooo much. SHE is listed as AILSEY WARREN. I wish I had tried that sooner.
And look. Her son was the sheriff.

I had done a search for both, but the results concerning Ailsey were N.C. related, and I (for some reason) thought you were doing Georgia research.
