Do you agree or disagree ?

Wow. That is one of, if not the worst documentary I've ever seen as the commentator points out the narrator's many, many (!) errors. But I enjoyed his presentation, especially pointing out his views on Burnside and Sickles being miscast with "the worst".
One thing to consider for the so called 'worst' generals is, who elevated them to that position in the first place?
I'm a broken record on this point but will always find it hard criticizing these men too severely, knowing they risked life and limb on a regular basis.

Alpheus Williams on John Pope-

It can with truth be said of him that he had not a friend in his command from the smallest drummer boy to the highest general officer. All hated him."

I'll not watch the video, I come here to read. But I'll say this for Pope, after his comeuppance in Virginia he served his country well in Minnesota and in the plains Indian wars.

Sheltowee; After the war, Sickles became a bad man and should have been jailed with the money that disappeared under his watch. And you can't blame the handsome Key for taking care of something that pretty that Sickles should have handled. Come on Dan!

Irishtom29; good point. The AOV certainly took it on the Chinn (ridge) so to speak! But it was most definitely nasty business on the plains and just as deadly against some of the toughest fighters on the plains.

JerryD; I think McClellan should be Top Ten Best in the North for how he built the army us, gave it health and inspired confidence. And as you said, then there's Antietam.
