Display stands for half shells?

I've got a couple of 12-lb halfshells inbound and was wondering for those of you who have display stands or bases, what do y'all use or recommend?

On round balls I just use a 2 inch thick piece of 4 inch pvc pipe.

I'm trying to visualize this. By "thick", I think you mean the cut Length.
Not the wall thickness.
