Anyone watching DICKINSON? It's free right now during the coronavirus so I binged it. It was quite good! A few new take on Emily Dickinson. Plenty of CivilWarTalk to - the pending conflict, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, Whigs, Know-Nothings, and debates about whether a war will come.
I found the anachronistic language and music, while likely to be divisive, totally worked for me. It breathed life into the era and is a really cool counterbalance to LITTLE WOMEN (2019) as examples of how to modernize the 19th Century.
It think what was most appealing about the show was how flawed all of the characters are. Emily Dickinson is brilliant and way ahead of her time but she is also selfish. Her family and friends also have their flaws and quirks.
I won't say more for spoilers sake, but the first season is ten 30-minute episodes and it's already been renewed for a Season 2.
Anyone else seen it?
