Oct. 14 is National Dessert Day, so thought add this recipe for Apple Fluff Pie. It is one of my family's go to pies. It is from about 1900.

Apple Fluff Pie

2 cups well sweetened apple sauce
2 eggs
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon flour
few grains of salt

Combine apple sauce, lemon juice and salt, flour and well beaten eggs. Cook over hot water until thick and smooth. Fold into stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into pastry lined pie pan. Bake in hot oven (425 degrees) until crust is brown and filling is firm

This is a quick and easy dessert to make for family or friends.

Our dear forum member LoyaltyOfDogs made this pie for Thanksgiving dinner. She posted it in the Thanksgiving dinner thread.

The Foods and Recipes Forum has presented her for a Special Cook Award. It is great when a member makes one of the old recipes posted.

Thanks for sharing your pie with us and congrats on a fine dessert for Thanksgiving.
