Ladies and Gentlemen,
Me and my JROTC Instructor will soon be battling out against one another on the board game "Gettysburg: Badges of Courage". He and I will be commanding the Army of the Potomac and Army of Northern Virginia respectively.
But I am throwing in a surprise: following similar lines of the decisions made by Little Wars TV. I will be displaying some options that are to be made my each team and what you think would be the best course of action for each team to follow.
US1
ADVANCE: Have the I Corps under Reynolds to move quickly and reinforce Buford along McPherson and Seminary Ridge.
WITHDRAW: Order Buford to make an orderly withdraw and join the I Corps on Cemetary Ridge.
CS1
ADVANCE: Order Hill's divisions forward immediately to smash the Federal lines and drive them into and maybe through Gettysburg.
WITHDRAW: Order Hill to fall back and await the arrival of Ewell's corps.
US2
DEFENSIVE: Order Howard and his XI Corps to take up positions next to Culp's Hill.
AGGRESSIVE: Have Howard move into Gettysburg to face the growing Confederate advance (with Reynolds assuming you chose to send Reynold's corps out).
CS2
RIGHT: Order Ewell to make his main assaults against Culp's/Cemetary Hill.
LEFT: Have Ewell maneuver his men, taking several hours to possibly get his men to the Emmitsburg Road and cut off the Federal line-of-communications.
US3
DOUBLE-TIME: Order Sickles III Corps to force march to the scene of the fighting, but end up on the field fatigued.
KEEP ORDER: Have Sickles and his men arrive later in the day, possibly later that night.
CS3
REORGANIZE: Spend the final hours of the afternoon reorganizing and resting the troops for tomorrow's fight.
ATTACK: Flail aggressively against the Federal lines in Hope's of a final push through.
US4
NORTH: Order the V Corps to advance Northwards and assault the Confederates near Wolf Hill.
WEST: Have the V Corps take it's historical position near the Round Tops.
CS4
SOUTH: Have Longstreet take his men on their historical movement towards the southern end of the Emmitsburg Road.
EAST: Order Longstreet to move towards Wolf Hill and move down towards the Baltimore Pike.
And so the choices have been laid before you, the populace of the Website to give your choices on what you think will win the battle for either side.
