Still unpacking from dad but just saw this full case Ambro of a dad and his son. His sleeve stripe shows he is a veteran...I markings on his kepi. Nice touching photo that I am sure meant a lot to the family

Maybe prop it up? Then move the item in front of the camera. Those foldable picture frame holders work remarkably well!

They didn't smile for photographs in those days. Maybe it was something to do with long exposure times, but it also just wasn't the done thing - painted portraits had never featured smiling features, so why should a photograph ?
