Sweet Baked Goods Cup Cake

Ingredients:

1 cup butter​

2 cups sugar​

3 cups flour​

4 eggs​

Instructions:

Cup cake is about as good as pound cake, and is cheaper. One cup of butter, two cups of sugar, three cups of flour, and four eggs, well beat together, and baked in pans or cups. Bake twenty minutes, and no more.​

I wish I knew! It wasn't mentioned in the book that I got it from.

Many old recipes do not give temperature. I think cooks of the day just knew.

That is really the best answer....they relied on experience! I am not a very good baker, but I can cook anything else, so I am not a good person to ask advice from for baking!
