Crooked Shoes

I was doing some uniform research and saw the Civil War era term "Crooked Shoes". Although most of us know what the term meant I still find the term a bit odd. So here are a couple of other 'shoe' terms. Congress Shoes. Conestoga Boots. Monticellos. Stovepipe Boots (not sure this is a period term).
