Forgot I had these...the virus gives me time to sniff around.
So to me it looks like a senior rank Union dad....a Reb son (check out.the Chevrons and what's up with the collar stars?).
But I do appreciate the daughters somewhat defiant look.
Looks like the original frame and matting which should be replaced
Thoughts?

Three stripes = Sgt. A star on the collar represents a Confederate major = therefore the son is a Confederate Sgt. Major lol

The old man's garb could easily be Southern pre-war or early war militia. What type and size of photos are these?

All of the photos look like late 1800s/early 1900s copies of earlier photos which were placed in that frame. I also think the older man looks like he is wearing an older prewar uniform as well. I hope someone is able to ID what type of uniform the young man is wearing as the six-sided collar star is pretty distinctive. He seems a bit too young to be a major, no?
