Chattahooch33 where did you find the photo of his stone with marker? Is it on find a grave? I am always looking the different soldiers mentioned on the forum on find a grave. Usually find a memorial to them.

Yes, he is in Bush Cemetery in Vermont. Died 1863.

See the little revolver? Appears to be a Smith & Wesson. These were small guns, and not
much protection for a soldier compared to a .58 Cal. musket! Sometimes these
were thrown away on a march or otherwise disposed of so it would not have
to be carried in a knapsack for who knows how many hundreds of miles!

That looks like the .22 little s&w too. They were very common and manufactured for a surprisingly long time. I almost bought one once.
