Confederate Private Samuel B. Todd

Currently looking at the Confederate half-brothers & brothers-in-law of Mary Todd Lincoln. One was Samuel B Todd, killed at Shiloh. I've found two records for S.B. Todd. One for the Louisiana 7th Infantry Battalion, and one with the Louisiana "Crescent" Infantry. (24th Infantry) ? Just wondering if this is two separate records for the same man ? Did the 7th Battalion help form a Company for the "Crescent" infantry. Appreciate any help.

Ok, I am a total rank amateur at this, but did find these two links. One is for Samuel Brown Todd, one is for Samuel Briggs Todd, both killed at Shiloh! The second link doesn't specify a unit, though, and I ran out of time to do any closer inspection. I hope this isn't completely useless junk info for you!!

Samuel Todd in 16th Tennessee Cavalry (Logwood's)
and another in 54th Tennessee Infantry
a S. B. Todd in 1st Texas infantry

Not useless junk at all ! Apparently with your info and help from Klaudly I have my man. Mary's brother was Samuel Brown Todd. Thank you both !

I am currently doing some research on Mary Todd Lincoln's Confederate half-brothers, brothers-in-law and brother and am sure the Samuel B. Todd you refer to is Samuel Briggs Todd. Briggs is a Todd family connection name.
