Recently got my hands on this piece of Harding sabot, it's provenance wasn't listed but the neat thing about Harding shells is they're pretty much exclusive to the Charleston area (likely dug on James Island or Long Island)
The lands and grooves line up almost exactly with my whole 6.5" Harding, this peaked my interest so I asked my dad take a look at them both. He's a retired forensic investigator and did a lot of ballistic analysis over the years. He said he's 80% sure these lands and grooves can be attributed to the same gun. How cool is that!
Really happy to get my hands on this unique piece of sabot, Hardings are some of my favorite shells and I love getting anything I can of them.
