Collection Confederate D-Guard. Whatcha think?

Weapon props were sometimes used in Civil War ambrotypes and tintypes. But such practices seemed to only be used in Union images. No single Confederate Bowie appeared in more than one image. All were clearly Confederate made and several are identified to a maker. In all of my years and research, I've seen hundreds of Confederate ambrotypes and tintypes with bowie knives and not once have I ever seen the same knife twice. Each knife is unique and clearly not just a prop.

I came across this Taiwanese Navy fighting knife, with emerald eyed seahorse handle.Definitely a hard to find piece. Wonder if @rebelpatriot will make a trade or offer?
