From the middle of 1863 until the end of the war, telegraphers used eight code words for Abraham Lincoln, which are listed below.

One of the eight listed below is incorrect. Which code word was not used for Abraham Lincoln?

1. Bologna
2. Bolivia
3. Chile
4. Ida
5. Ink
6. Irving
7. Ingress
8. Ingrate

Chile is not included in this list, so it was not a code word used for Pres. Lincoln.

Chile is not one of Lincoln's code names the missing one is Ingot

The recent questions have been very hard,

In looking I found these Code names for Lincoln: Ida, India, Irving, Ingrate and Ingot.

So don't know from list which one it couldn't be. But thought I would try to answer by proving code names I have found for Lincoln.

Edit - You narrowed it down some, but not all the way to the correct answer.

3. Chile was NOT a code work used to indicate Abraham Lincoln.

"In Cipher 1, used from mid-1863 through the end of the war, arbitraries for Lincoln included "Bologna," "Bolivia," "Ida," "ink," "Irving," "ingress," "ingrate," and "ingot." Only the cipher telegrapher would know that any of those eight arbitraries referred to President Lincoln."

Been spending the last two days fighting with search engines, with no luck. I did find a facsimile of a handwritten list of code names, so I know that the first two above are correct. However, the code names used on that list are in pairs, and for each person the pairs begin with the same letter of the alphabet. I'm therefore going to make a wild guess that #3, Chile, is the incorrect one, and that the correct alternative begins with "I."
