Civil War Twin Ancestors

Did anybody have a Civil War ancestor or relative who was a twin? I was curious because while researching my Mother's side of my family tree, I discovered that my 5th Great Uncle Sylvester Greenman (23rd Iowa Infantry) had a twin sister.

I never thought that much about twins until my daughter had twins. My brother's son had twins. A quick check of my dad's family helped me to recall he had twin siblings even though one died.
Mom believed the old saying: Twins run in the family.
If there is a thread of truth to that old saying then Maybe that would give some people reason to go back and do more research.
I dont see any ancestors who have same birth years but Im only looking at Census snap shots in time.

My 4th Great Uncle Edwin Eddy (27th NY Infantry) had a twin brother named Edgar. One NY census even had a note listing them as twins.

Sadly, Edwin was killed at the First Battle of Bull Run, and Edgar, who never enlisted, died the following April.

Did Sylvester survive the war?

Yes. Sylvester survived the war and passed away in 1922 at the age of 84.
