I became interested in the 5th grade when one of my teachers lent me a stack of Civil War Times magazine. The one thing that interested me most were the kepis/forage hat on both sides.Since the originals are so scarce and expensive when you can find one I decided to collect new made ones and my first is a Union forage cap made by Dirty Billy which is superb. What other makers of quality kepis are there. The name Greg Starbuck has been mentioned but I have not had a chance to contact him.

Here's one I just got from Mr. Starbuck

Captaindrew I have seen the kepi nation on facebook and he makes some great looking kepis. Since you have bought from him, how do you place an order, what is the price range, how long does it take for him to make one (Not in a hurry, just curious) Thanks.

Send him a PM on his Facebook page. If your not on Facebook I'll send you a PM here with his email. I got mine in a few weeks which is actually really fast for a custom made item. A lot of vendors take a few months to get something to you. But I'm sure that depends on how busy he is at the time and what you want.
