NF Civil War Computer Games

Non-Fiction
Not sure. It was a little bit dated and others mentioned the same thing so probably something wrong with the coding. But I wanted to grab it before it disappeared.

Such a sweet game!

Seriously sweet- folks, if you see it somewhere, pick it up, it's a gem of a game. You can play from brigade up to army command, with combined arms at the higher command levels. Great terrain, pretty good AI, and you can either issue orders or- as the title suggests- "take command" of individual regiments to get them to do what you want.

I got it for $5 but the site I got no longer can sell the game. You have to go to MadMinute Games. Is worth the price easily.

Just downloaded this tonight. I really enjoyed it. Here is a gameplay video if anyone is interested.
I just looked up some reviews on it, maybe you could address some of the comments?
- Command is based at brigade level, with no ability to move divisions or select regiments.
- There are no formations selectable by the player.
- The notifications are poor, such as units' morale, ie: when they're about to break, or when reinforcements arrive.
- Units don't surrender even when surrounded and taking heavy casualties.

I just bought it last night and played it once so I'm not really the one to give an in depth review on it. I've enjoyed the one time I played it though. It almost reminds me of watching a modern animated Civil War map and how the troop movements look there except you can scroll in closer and see more detail. I would probably like more detailed control of the units in terms of formations but for $15 (and with the possibility of more updates to improve the game) I like what played in my brief experience.

I enjoyed Forge of Fire done by Matrix Games. I think they have a newer one out now. Forge of Fire wasn't really the most user friendly game and the battles could be tedious. It was very much like a Total War concept game, which I liked. Just had to be very patient. Sadly, I never finished a game...

[ edit : DOES SOMEONE HAVE A SERIAL NUMBER TO INSTALL THIS PATCH ? ]

i tried american conquest series, but despite the great potential, unfortunally AI is too scandalous and the game is boring.

i would go to play this CWG2, together with take command 2nd Manassas.
