A couple pics of the Pike that I have always liked. Alot of good detail. Was looking at the first pic recently and noticed the gravel repairs added on either side of the stream crossing in the road. If you look closely all the road traffic is avoiding the gravel and passing to the right evidenced by the amount of wagon tracks and manure on the right side of the bridge. Gravel like that is harder on the horses feet/ shoes. Looks like traffic is holding that right side line after the bridge for a ways. They are running the smoothest worn line in the road and pull team off to the side when encountering on coming traffic. No water bars in this stretch of the pike. There were numerous ones in the road on the other side of the ridge.
