As you know many different cemeteries have different rules as to when to visit and etc. One of the rules I have always kept myself for the most part is not to visit a cemetery if it's at a church on a Sunday unless it's my family and happens to be after the church people have went home. Some cemeteries are harder to visit than others especially if they are on private property then you have to get permission from the owner sometimes this can take a long process. Currently there are a few Generals buried on Private Property which is why I haven't visit there graves hopefully I will be given written permission someday. I was also told sometimes with cemeteries you can only visit in say like winter due to snakes and overgrowth currently there is a General in Virginia that I was told about that is buried like this. There was a General a few years ago that was moved from the Bayou of Louisiana to a nice church cemetery in Cecilia Louisiana this is General Louis Hebert I speak of I visited his grave back in December on my way home from Texas. I had read about where the General was moved from his original place to a church cemetery. I am not sure if they moved his wife or not. Some cemeteries are well kept and some need work. Some Generals and Colonels have tombstones and some don't one example of not having a tombstone in his lot is Brig. General Daniel Weisiger Adams now he does have a Confederate marker in the Soldiers Section of the Cemetery in Jackson Mississippi but nothing exactly where he is buried. There's a Colonel down in Savannah at North Laurel Grove Cemetery who has no tombstone hopefully someday he will have one. This reminds of when I visited a grave in New Orleans about 8 years ago at the time the General only had clam shells on top of his grave thankfully a Confederate Marker has been added for the General or else he might be lost in history. I had a family member my ggg uncle buried like this until about 2 years ago when had a marker put up for him. He's buried at Hollywood Cemetery he died back in 1862 of Smallpox the family always wondered what happened to him but they never had a way to locate his grave I grew up hearing the story from my granny and was determined to find out what happened to her uncle. Thankfully I found his grave about 8 years ago in Hollywood Cemetery it has a nice little bush close to it. Below I added some of the Pictures from General Louis Hebert's grave.
