I want to map out a cemetery and feel I have most of the data but I am not good with drawing. Is there any ideas or apps for drawing a cemetery?

I don't know of any drawing software (although there's very likely some choices) and the only real mapping software I know of would set you back a ways and require a lot of memory in your device. That said, if you don't need it to be to scale (and thus technically a drawing and not a map) and don't need something real big you could call up Google maps and then switch to the satellite view, zoom in where you want to map, print the image, and then put a piece of clean paper over the image and trace.

Some survey companies will print images for you (for a small fee) on their plotter and that would allow you to make your map larger (although the image probably won't be as clear as if on legal or 8.5x11). Printing places might also be able to do that. You'd, of course, then have to go buy some sheets of large paper but you can get those at an art supply or hobby store.

When you're all done you could take your original to a copy place and they'd likely be able to scan it and print out however many copies you wanted.

In the end it might not be to scale or really geographically oriented but that's probably not very important in your case as nobody is likely going to need to measure distance or need to traverse with a compass; they'll just need to be able to find a given grave and a good drawing with labels will suffice nicely.

Stiles/Arkin, I see that you are in the Atlanta area. If you are still working on your cemetery map, you might want to consider contacting the Geography Department at a local college/university to see if a geographic information systems (GIS) student could work with you for some kind of class credit. That way, the university provides the GIS software, the big plotter/printer and the paper. :D You provide the data and the opportunity for a student to gain real life experience. I see that both Georgia Tech and Emory offer GIS degrees. There may be others.
