Not much activity here lately but if you know of a young aspiring cavalry troop that needs some quality equipment, I have some for sale. Made from original patterns collected while I worked with the U.S. Army Center of Military History as a museum curator. Correct hardware, quality American leather, hand cut, hand dyed, and hand stitched as were the originals. Items that would have had maker's stamps and inspector stamps have those stamps. This is not my day job so I can keep prices reasonable. Most items on the current list can be shipped next day via USPS and the prices include shipping. Too many photos to drop here. Special orders available, numerous Confederate items as well with bent wire 3/4 and 5/8 heel bar buckles. Send questions to: [email protected]12.al.us

A couple of more items for sale:

1. U.S. Staff Officer's slouch hat with that veteran look. This hat started as a Bailey 10X fur felt, the crown was reshaped to a period style and the brim was cut back to four inches, and hand bound with black gros-grain ribbon, then pencil rolled as was they style. a gros-grain hatband was hand sewn and installed. The U.S. device was hand sewn and the officer cords were added. There is also a removable stampede string. This hat has seen it all and has a weathered, veteran look because it is just that. It still retains its original stiffness and has always been waterproof in the worst storms., water will puddle on the brim! This is definitely a cut above sutler row, already dresser and weathered I am wearing this hat in the avatar. Size is 7 1/8 yo 7 14 depending how much hair you have I guess. Paypal price, shipped $65.
