Musket loading questions:

"Sarge, check and see if I did this right."
"Sarge, I swallowed the end of the paper cartridge. Am I gonna throw up?"
"Sarge, the wind blew my powder all over the place. Do I have to go get it all?"
"Sarge, why am I holding the pointy end of the musket up in the air if the enemies are in front of us?"
"Sarge, I put the lead ball and rest of the paper cartridge into the barrel. I looked down into the barrel and can't see them."
"Sarge, Jethro and I got us a beat going when we push our ramrods down together at the same time!"
"Sarge, I can scratch my back with the ramrod!"
"Sarge, when I pulled the trigger, the ramrod flew out of the barrel. Can I go get it?"

Aww man! I knew I forgot the mini balls at the last battlefield. Let's just yell wildly when we attack the Yanks today. That'll work right fellas?

Beverly Hillbillies?
Those of us that grew up watching the Beverly Hillbillies ... knew the Clampetts thought these things were "pot passers" ... on the fancy green dining table.

:bounce:

I'm so glad I grew up during that era !

There's no way those classic shows could be broadcast today.

Yes General those were the days - Green Acres and Petticoat Junction. Lots of great shows. My favorite was Vic Morrow and Combat!

Sting from The Police wrote a song about us:

"We were born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties

My mother cried
When president Kennedy died
She said it was the communists
But I knew better
Would they drop the bomb on us
While we made love on the beach
We were the class they couldn't teach
'Cause we knew better

We were born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties

They screamed
When the Beatles sang
And they laughed when the King fell down the steps
Oh they should've known better
Oh we hated our Aunt
Then we messed in our pants
Then we lost our faith and prayed to the TV
Oh we should've known better

We were born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties

We freeze like statues on the pages of history
Living was never like this when we took all those G.C.E.'s
Oh you opened the door for us
And then you turned to dust
You don't understand us
So don't reprimand us
We're taking the future
We don't need no teacher

Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties
Born
Born in the fifties"
