Id be really grateful of some help folks as ive hit a dead end with my research of my relative William Robinson

In 1863 Captain William Robinson company E 77th Pennsylvania Infantry was captured at Chickamauga and I have an account where he said that they were paraded though Atlanta in front of jeering crowds.
I have also read accounts of other prisoners from the battle being taken North by train.
Captain Rose of the 77th also captured at Chickamauga ended up in Libby prison and led the escape from there. I found that a William Robinson of the 77th Pennsylvania was in Andersonville but not the same man as he was a private and sadly died there. William returned to the 77th on 10th April 1865 after being exchanged and was prompted to Major then Lieutenant colonel and eventually Breveted Brigadier General.
I know of camp Sorghum and thought he may have been there but it seems most officers there were captured at Gettysburg and the Wilderness.

The Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh has a transcript of his unpublished diary (1861-66). Apparently he was sent to Libby after Chickamauga, released, and later captured again "and sent to Georgia."

Thanks John that's something new but regarding Libby Prison I wonder did he escape in the break out and was recaptured again then. There were no prisoner exchanges between 1862 and Jan 65 so he wouldn't have been released he arrived back with his regiment only on 10th April 65. Late over here and bedtime but ill check for more info tomorrow thanks again .

@ 7th Wisconsin: As Winfield Scott once said to Winfield Scott Hancock, "I will endeavor to bring no dishonor to your name, if you will endeavor to do the same with mine." :bounce:

Many thanks for your help east Tennessee. Must be Libby in Richmond and then taken south again.
I wonder if he escaped from Libby was recaptured and then taken to Georgia.
I know about Williams journal but as yet can't read it as I live in Northern Ireland 18 miles from Woodgrange near Downpatrick where Williams family were from.

It seems prisioners were moved from Libby prision
to Georgia after the escape so he could have been moved then.
Captian Rose of the 77th Pensylvania who led the escape would have know William well but ive no idea if he was involved in the escape.

". In February 1864, 109 prisoners escaped by tunnel, with 59 eventually reaching Union lines. A few weeks later, Union cavalry general H. Judson Kilpatrick and his one-legged protégé Colonel Ulric Dahlgren mounted an ambitious but disastrous rescue attempt, prompting Libby officials to dig a mine, fill it with explosives, and threaten to destroy the facility if any prisoners attempted to escape. Shortly thereafter, Confederate officials began transferring Libby's population to Georgia, with the facility being used as a place of temporary confinement for the next year."
