Cannonball - Another Dusty Treasure.... :-)

Hello Folks - ( I posted this somewhere else on the forums, Bellumpedia, etc., but not sure where that is now.. Apologies if I've messed something up!)

Still thrashing through the crates and boxes of my 60+ year collection, much to the thrill of the 'Other' occupant of this joint!

Here is what I believe is a cannonball. Thinking maybe CW or possibly earlier, or even nothing at all but a big round chunk of iron. 🤘

She (!) weighs in at just over 9lbs., and using my verniers, it is 4 inches in diameter. Quite the hole where the sprue was.

Any thoughts? More to come as I keep digging (not in the ground, that's been frozen solid).

That is the correct diameter for a 9 pounder but that large spruce mark is suspect. Some real smart guys on cannonballs may help you here hopefully
