I bought a Cannon ball at an auction; it was listed as an American civil war cannon ball with no other details or certificate. It has a circumference of 14 inches and weighs 12 pounds. It has two tiny hold right beside each other. It has a shiny finish and looks brass. Anyone have an idea of what it is?

Good idea to have it checked out. If it is a cannon ball to make sure it has been defused. Black powder can still go off after 150 years.
