Reticently I tried to stump our forum members with identifying Confederate uniforms now how about some Union uniforms?
Some hints: These are early war uniforms. Not one is a Confederate soldier and they all come from the same state. One of them might not be able to speak English very well.

I think already made this too easy.

With all due respect, I think you need to pick more obscure uniforms. Even though I didn't respond to your first thread, it was easy because only two Zouave units were raised in South Carolina and the Charleston Zouave Cadets are the most well known.

This thread deals with units from New York and I will start with the second figure from the left. The 11th New York Infantry.

Well Legion Para I did want to allow people who are not uniform experts to give it a try. And yes these are very easy Union uniforms. Perhaps I will search for one that might make you think for a while. Are you form Michiagn? Note that the Ella Sharp Museum in Jackson on May 20-21 will be having a Civil War event. I will find out the detail at the Jackson Civil War Round Table tomorrow night. Tomorrow's lecture will be on Michigan Civil War flags.

In post #1 they are left to right:
1. Pvt. 22nd Regiment Nation Guard of New York.
2. 11th New York Volunteers or 1st New York Fore Zouaves.
3. Cpl. 8th New York Volunteers or 1st German Rifles.
4. Pvt. 13th New York State Militia or Rochester Regiment.
5. 7th New York State Militia (full dress).
