I am posting this recipe separate from one Mr. Barry posted. This recipe for Cabbage Salad is from "The Foxfire Book of Appalachian Cookery". It is one of 4 slaw recipes in the book.
Cabbage Salad
3 cups shredded cabbage
1 1/2 cups shredded carrots
1.2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vinegar
Mayonnaise
orange sections
Combine cabbage, carrots, salt and vinegar. Moisten with mayonnaise, Mix by tossing with two forks. Add orange sections.
