When General Bragg restructured the Army of the Mississippi into The Army of Tennessee, he disbanded, reconfigured and merged a lot of the units.

When he did so, did he also restructure their brigade and division staff's? Did he go as far as sending division staff officers to other theaters of the war?

I'm asking because someone of interest that I'm studying was a staff officer for General Cheatham until after the restructuring of the army when they were moved to the trans-Mississippi theater for about six months before they transferred back to the AOT After just 6 months and served on General John C Brown's staff... and I can't find why
