Does anyone have any recommendations on books or other research material about Henderson's Scouts CSA (under Forrest)? My 2nd G Grandfather served in unit as Private and no family stories have been passed down. I've found webpages that give an overview of unit but no details. I'm interested in learning more about how and where they operated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Just to add to the above, Henderson's Scouts was sometimes referred to as a company within "Forrest's Scouts CSA". So I'm also looking for a book that deals with how Nathan Bedford Forrest utilized and coordinated with his independent scouts in general. Other companies associated with Forrest's Scouts are: Cobb, Elliott, Harvey, Kizer, and Sanders.

@dfostermem there are quite a few books on Forrest and less so on his scouts. Check out these two books on his scouts.

Here's just one thread on Forrest which will aid in your search for books.
