I've read "Bentonville: The Final Battle of Sherman & Johnston" by Hughes and would recommend it as a pretty detailed overview of the battle. I have heard, however, that Bradley's book is much more detailed with better maps, though I haven't read it yet.

I have a copy of "The Battle of Bentonville: Last Stand in the Carolina's" by Mark L. Bradley mentioned above by Legion Para...its very good. Although It doesn't go down to the regimental level of all brigades...it didn't on the Brigade I was researching anyway.

Ran across these pages written by Cpt. James Power Smith's son who was a Presbyterian minister in Smithfield, NC, during the 1940's. He made an extensive study of Bentonville and wrote several articles about it.

Here are some pages on "Some Common Errors About Bentonville:"
