Bleeding Kansas Lecture Series

Would verymuch like to attend, Bill, but I'm a bit far (as are almost every other member) to get into that.

Perhaps you could start a thread and we could all learn something about the troubles in Kansas.

Such a thread would generate some heat, but I do think we all could benefit from a bit of whackamole amongst those few who do know the transMississippi.

Why Lecompton? I would think that La Cygne would be more appropriate since Brown has a connection there.

Lecompton was the territorial capital, and the lecture series is held in the old "Constitution Hall" right in the middle of town every January and February.

I'm familiar with Lecompton and have been to the Constitution Hall - I live in Johnson County. I'm just saying that La Cygne might have been more appropriate for a lecture on Brown given its history.
