Was browsing through images online looking for a specific confederate officer portrait,
This is supposedly a rare photo of "Black Confederate Soldiers", likely from one of the handful of still-forming companies at the end of the war.

Would like verification if this is in fact what it says it is, or if they are USCT in very tattered uniforms or something.

Who said these were Confederates? Afaik the only (surviving) photos of Confederates taken in 1865 were CS ships in foreign harbors.

They are obviously United States soldiers. Beware the internet.

It seems to me photos of black Confederate soldiers are as "rare" as actual black Confederate soldiers, i.e., basically non-existent.
