I am giving some thought about reading a few books about the Union use of black solders during the a Civil War and the development of the USCT. I own 6 to 10 such books but am not sure if some are better than the others.
I am not too sure I want to read books that are overly preachy on the subject. So are some of the authors who wrote books about the USCT bias? I think I would prefer an honest assessment.
I would probably be willing to buy a couple more books. So what books on the Union use of black soldiers would other forum members suggest?
