ENDED Austrian Lorenz Type 1 in decent condition

Title say it all. Mr. Dixon helped me find out which rifle my GG Grandpap was issued, so I would like one to honor him by getting one. I live in PA and do have a C&R license just so the buyer knows I'm an okay guy. Thank you! Dave

Both Lodgewwod & Gunderson Militaria have Lorenzes at the moment. Don't know off hand what model though. Past that I haven't seen a Lorenz lately.

Thank you, Colonel. I appreciate the suggestions. Unfortunately, Gunderson's is a postwar Wenzyl and Lodgewood's is a Type 2 although I asked him if the current adj. sight may have been added because the rest of the rifle looks exactly as a Type 1 should. But alas, he doesn't answer. My humble thanks, Johan!

Wow, Captain! Thank you. It appears to be a Type 1! I'm not real certain about the repairs made, some parts look "new". But, the price is right. If the front/nose band was original it would make it a deal now. I will continue researching this one for sure!!!!

Added note: Lodgewood did respond just now and answered my question. It does have all the Type 1 features except that darn rear sight. I thank them very much for responding.

I guess most collectors stick with a Type 1 having a blade rear sight and Type 2 an adjustible one. A Type 3 had a different lock mechanism. My fogginess is in some reading I found that back then, a Type 1 had the first lock mechanism and Type 2 had the later one (Enfield) with only mention of sights being the blades went to troops and adjustible to NCO's. So-o-o,
