This is from probably Nov 1873. The only ID I can be sure of is the man on the right. He's Lt. Tom Pointer, 16th Ala Inf. I give the date as a guess because that's when he married a nineteen year-old, and she looks about the right age.
I just now noticed the resemblance between the lady on the left wearing the cross and this photo of Tom Pointer's mother-in-law, taken about 1859. Put 15 years on her and she could well be the "cross lady" in the above group shot.
Somewhere in the many tins that I have posted recently is a totally cool indoor pix that the photographer went to great lengths to make it look outdoors. Very 3D ish
