Any clue on id these two found items?

Hi all, have these two items that I am hoping someone has a clue what they are. The wheel shape one came from a trench site and appears to be pewter. Maybe part of a 'patent water filter' or wheel from a toy? Strange it would be pewter though. Other item looks like an artillery fuse to me, but has a square hole in the end, atypical for a fuse. Appears to have been longer but was broken. Has part of a chunk of lead stuck in the end. Cannot find it in my books. Thanks!

At first I thought the top piece was a Whitworth shipping plug but they were hex not square. The bottom piece I don't have a clue.

This might get me laughed off the forum but could the bottom piece be some kind of on / off handle?
